Farhan Akhtar Honors Heroes of Rezang La on 62nd Anniversary with Upcoming Film ‘120 Bahadur’

On November 18, 2024, actor and director Farhan Akhtar paid tribute to the 120 brave soldiers of the Indian Army who fought in the Battle of Rezang La, marking the 62nd anniversary of the fierce clash during the 1962 Indo-China war. The battle, which took place in the harsh, freezing terrain of Ladakh, saw a small but determined group of Indian soldiers from Charlie Company holding their ground against a much larger Chinese force. Despite being vastly outnumbered and enduring brutal winter conditions, these soldiers fought valiantly until the last man, cementing their place in India’s military history.

 

Farhan, who is set to portray Major Shaitan Singh, a hero of the battle, in his upcoming film 120 Bahadur, took to social media to honor the courage and sacrifice of these fallen heroes. In his post, he shared two motion posters from the film, writing, “It’s been 62 years since 1962. Today, we honor the unparalleled courage and sacrifice of the heroes of Rezang La. 120 Bahadur is our tribute to Major Shaitan Singh and his brave men, who stood their ground against insurmountable odds.” The motion posters, filled with powerful imagery and emotion, offer a glimpse into the epic retelling of this incredible story.

 

The Battle of Rezang La is one of the most heroic chapters in India's military history, where Charlie Company of just 120 soldiers defended their position against over 3,000 Chinese troops. Despite the overwhelming enemy presence, the soldiers stood their ground in freezing temperatures, refusing to surrender or retreat. Their indomitable bravery earned them a place in India's military folklore and continues to inspire generations. The battle is not only remembered for its bravery but also for the supreme sacrifice made by the soldiers, whose courage and resolve remain etched in the nation's heart.
