Sonu Nigam Pays Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle: 'They Taught the World How to Sing'

Singer Sonu Nigam paid a heartfelt tribute to legends Asha Bhosle and the late Lata Mangeshkar, highlighting their profound impact on the world of music and beyond at the launch event of 'Svarsvamini Asha.

 

 

In his poignant tribute, Sonu Nigam remarked, "Today, there are plenty of tools and avenues to learn music, ranging from social media to huge apps, but when there was nothing to learn from, there was Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. They both have taught the whole world how to sing."

 

Acknowledging the enduring impact of their teachings, he expressed, “I don’t want to say anything more, whatever we learned from you, thank you for that, people who are still learning from you, thank you for that, and in Santan Dharma, we believe that our Guru is next to God”  

 

Sonu Nigam also washed the feet of Padma Vibhushan awardee and veteran singer Asha Bhosle with rose water and rose petals.

 

Asha Bhosle attended the event with her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle. 

 

Eminent personalities such as Mohan Bhagwat, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Bharati Mangeshkar, Ashish Shelar, Ashok Saraf, Jackie Shroff, Poonam Dhillon, Suresh Wadkar, Sudesh Bhosle, Shruti Bhosle, and Harish Bhimani, attended the event to honour Asha Bhosle.
