Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan along with Rana Daggubati grace the 'Kalki 2898 AD' pre-release event in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Talking about his role and finding the right look, Kamal Haasan said, “Nag Ashwin and I discussed it a lot, we had a lot to talk about, not look like something which I have done already or somebody else have done already. I thought I had an amazing idea, as I haven’t seen any of the images from the movie, I thought I’d dress myself up in such a way that people will look around, turns out Amitabh Bachchan was already doing that, then I thought I’d wear an armor, and I was told Prabhas is already doing it, and I didn’t wanted to be pregnant in the film, otherwise I would have tried that as well, with a good director even that is possible.”
“But this get-up took a long time, we travelled to LA and failed a couple of times, before we arrived on the first acceptable look. I hope that the audience will react to the look the same way, we did” added Kamal.
Written and directed by Nag Ashwin., inspired by Hindu scriptures, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. The film features Prabhas in the lead role with an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Brahmanandam in prominent roles.
Produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, the film is slated for 27thJune 2024 release.
