Released in 2011, helmed by Anees Bazmee, the film was an official remake of the 2008 Telugu film of the same name directed by Srinu Vaitla. The film stars Salman Khan, and Asin. The film grossed 120 crore net in India against its 30 crore budget, and the lifetime global collection was 180 crore.
The film received great reviews from critics, with praise for its music, humor and Khan's performance, but criticism for its length and script.
On the work front, Anees Bazmee is busy with Bhull Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Triptii Dimri and Madhuri Dixit.
Vidya Balan essayed the role of Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and she will be seen reprising her role in the third part, which is slated for Diwali release.
