Aamir Khan was interacting with the media during Papa Kehte Hain 2.0 song release in Mumbai. The hit single of Aamir’s debut movie has been recreated for Srikanth, starring Rajkummar Rao.
When asked about his debut movie and Papa Kehte Hain song, actor Aamir Khan said, “It is a song that started my career, and certainly it is very special, when we were making this film, and the way Nasir Saab had supported us, and Mansoor was making his debut movie, and all of us were very new in that film. Kiran was the DOP, it was his first movie as well, then Anand-Milind duo was there, Juhi was there, Alka Yagnik was there, and we all were starting our careers/”
“We all were new, making our first film, at best, making a second film. So, it was a very exciting journey. We had no clue at the time, whether we will be successful or not, and every time me and Mansoor used to watch the movie, we would often ponder over the mistakes, how could we make the film better, and one fine day, the film got released, and it was an exciting journey to see the kind of love the movie got.”
“I like to believe that Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was a milestone in Indian cinema, which changed the whole sensibility of Indian cinema, from then onwards, from 1988 you can see the shift happening and Mansoor was the first director to bring that about, so it is a very special for me, in every way” added Aamir Khan.
Based on Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired Indian industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries, the film is helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, stars Rajkummar Rao, Jyothika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar. The film is slated for 10th May 2024 release.
Aamir Khan is currently prepping for his role in Sitaare Zameen Par.
