Starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, the film unveils lesser-known aspects of Manekshaw's life, including his close relationship with General Yahya Khan of Pakistan and the challenges he faced. While the movie offers an engaging narrative and features a stellar performance by Vicky Kaushal, it falls short in creating heightened tension and cohesion throughout the storyline.

 

The film succeeds in presenting a distinctive flavor, setting it apart from typical military dramas. It provides insights into Manekshaw's character, showcasing his candid behavior, including playful references to Indira Gandhi as 'Sweetie.' The portrayal of his camaraderie with Gurkha soldiers, comical exchanges with a grumpy South Indian cook, and interactions with key political figures contribute to the film's charm. The exploration of Manekshaw's personal and professional life, as well as his pivotal role in crucial historical events, adds depth to the narrative.

 

Vicky Kaushal's performance as Sam Manekshaw stands out as the film's highlight.
