Anurag Kashyap Issues Public Apology for Remarks Against Brahmin Community

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has issued a heartfelt apology following a controversial comment he made on social media in the heat of an argument. In a detailed statement shared publicly, Kashyap admitted that, in anger, he crossed a line and made generalized, hurtful remarks about the Brahmin community—a community he acknowledged has played a significant role in both his personal and professional life.

 

"Many people from this community have been a part of my journey, and I hold them in deep regard. My words hurt not just them, but also my family and intellectuals I look up to," Kashyap wrote. The filmmaker expressed regret over letting his emotions get the better of him, explaining that his response was aimed at a provocative comment, but unfortunately ended up offending an entire group. He emphasized that such generalizations were never his intention.
