Tabu to Star Opposite Vijay Sethupathi in Puri Jagannadh’s New Pan-India Film

Veteran actress Tabu is all set to bring her signature gravitas to filmmaker Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming untitled pan-India project. The makers officially announced her inclusion in the cast, confirming that she will play a pivotal role alongside Vijay Sethupathi, who headlines the film.

 

Directed and scripted by Puri himself, the film is being crafted with a strong emphasis on character depth, ensuring that every role adds value to the story. 

 

Known for her powerful performances and carefully chosen roles, Tabu's addition has already raised anticipation. Teaming up with Vijay Sethupathi for the first time, the pairing is already being hailed as one to watch out for. The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and several other languages, aiming for a truly pan-India reach.

 

Produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under their banner Puri Connects, the film is slated to hit screens in June 2025. Details about the rest of the cast and crew will be revealed soon, but sources suggest that each character has been written with a distinct and meaningful arc to elevate the film’s narrative.

 

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi, fresh off a busy 2024, continues his impressive streak. He began the year with the Hindi-Tamil bilingual ‘Merry Christmas’, opposite Katrina Kaif, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film, set during a fateful Christmas Eve, explored romance and unexpected twists between two strangers. Later, he appeared in his milestone 50th film, 'Maharaja', alongside Anurag Kashyap, which turned out to be a box office success.

 

With this new collaboration, fans can expect a gripping story, seasoned performances, and another compelling chapter in Indian cinema’s evolving landscape.
