Tamannaah Bhatia Opens Up About Her Challenging Role in Odela 2 and Its Deep Message

Tamannaah Bhatia is stepping into a bold and unique role in Odela 2, a supernatural thriller directed by Ashok Teja. Speaking about the challenges she faced while preparing for her character, Tamannaah revealed that her role demanded a level of preparation that went beyond the physical or mental. “Sometimes you have to play a character for which prep can’t be physical, it can’t be mental, the prep can’t be something that you can take reference from,” she said. “That was a big challenge for a film like this, because Shivshakti women, we don’t have any cinematic reference for it. In such cases, you really need to pull it off by trusting the unknown, by trusting what you don’t know, and by trusting what you don’t understand.”

 

She went on to describe her experience as a deeply internalized journey, one that took her beyond her logical understanding. “While filming, there were times when I thought to myself, this couldn’t be me, because it was beyond my logical understanding, how we were able to pull off certain scenes,” she shared. This level of vulnerability in her approach speaks to the emotional depth and complexity of her character in Odela 2, which requires her to trust in something larger than herself, much like her character's journey.

 

During the trailer launch, Tamannaah also touched upon the film’s larger philosophical message. “If you look at my character, she is without makeup, we wanted to make the character feel like you and me, because essentially it’s us. We have divinity within us, and we’re constantly searching for it everywhere,” she said. Tamannaah hopes the film will inspire viewers to look within themselves for divinity, especially as they leave the theater. “The idea is when people leave the theater, they might look for divinity within themselves. I really hope this film touches everyone because, in the end, good always wins over evil,” she added.

 

Odela 2 is a supernatural thriller that follows the fictional village of Odela, where a dark force threatens its peace. The film delves into the story of Odela Mallanna Swamy, who is tasked with protecting his village from these evil forces. Tamannaah’s character, as part of this narrative, embodies the divine strength that serves as a beacon of hope.

 

Directed by Ashok Teja and written by Sampath Nandi, the film also stars Hebah Patel, Vasishta N. Simha, and others in pivotal roles. The production, led by D. Madhu under the banners of Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, is enhanced by striking cinematography by Soundararajan and a haunting musical score composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.

 

With its unique blend of supernatural elements, philosophical depth, and a powerful cast, Odela 2 is set to be a thrilling cinematic experience that encourages audiences to reflect on the divinity within themselves.
