‘Ajay Devgn Challenges Himself and Inspires Us All’ Raj Kumar Gupta

At the trailer launch of Raid 2, director Raj Kumar Gupta shared insights about the film's journey and the time it took to bring it to fruition.

 

He explained, "The journey of Raid 2 took a lot of time. Good things take time, especially when it comes to finding the right story. We had to make sure that everyone was on board with the story we wanted to tell. We didn’t want to spoil what we had created, and that took time. Thankfully, we all came together in the end."

 

Talking about the film's star, Ajay Devgn, Gupta praised his dedication and constant drive to push boundaries. "He himself pushes boundaries," Gupta said. "I am a big fan of his. He’s the only superstar I’ve worked with, and he challenges himself. It’s not just about this film; he’s been doing it for so long, playing a wide variety of characters. We all draw inspiration from him. As a director, it’s always amazing to see an actor—or a superstar—dive so deep into his character and even guide me through the journey."

 

Gupta also shared how Devgn’s commitment to his work has inspired the entire team. "When he comes to the set, he’s there as an actor. If I need help, he’s always open to it. His contribution in defining the character is invaluable."

 

Raid 2 is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It features Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Saurbh Shukla and is scheduled to release on 1 May, 2025.
