Raaj Shaandilyaa Announces ‘The Verdict 498A’: A Socially Relevant Film in the Making

Renowned filmmaker Raaj Shaandilyaa, best known for his blockbuster hits like Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2, has announced his next ambitious project, The Verdict 498A, under his production banner, Kathavachak Films. The film, directed by Anindya Bikas Datta, aims to spotlight the critical issue of the misuse of Section 498A, which deals with matrimonial cruelty. This socially relevant film is set to challenge the narrative around false allegations and the legal complexities surrounding this sensitive topic.

 

The Verdict 498A is inspired by the real-life story of Deeptanshu Shukla, an engineer-turned-advocate who left behind a promising career to fight against the misuse of Section 498A. His journey from the corporate world to the courtroom highlights the personal struggles and societal pressures faced by individuals entangled in legal battles. The film promises to offer an authentic portrayal of his fight, shedding light on the emotional and psychological toll such cases can have on families.

 

Currently in the pre-production stage, the film will be shot primarily in Hindi and is planned for release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
