Gajraj Rao on the Power of Hard Work and Humility: ‘Results Are Beyond Our Control’

Gajraj Rao, one of the most versatile actors in the industry, was honored with an award at the Radio City Mumbai Icon Awards 2025 on Wednesday. The actor, known for his impactful performances in both films and web series, expressed his gratitude  and took a moment to reflect on his journey and the work that keeps him motivated.

 

Gajraj shared his excitement about his recent successes, particularly the appreciation for his web series Dabba Cartel and Dopahiya. He said: “Radio City is an amazing platform. I have two shows, Dabba Cartel and Dopahiya, that are receiving so much praise from the audience. To receive this award in the midst of these projects feels like the icing on the cake.”

 

When asked about what has always kept him going in his career, Gajraj shared a piece of wisdom that has guided him throughout: “Keep doing your karma, don’t wish for the result. What the result will be is not in our hands. When a script comes to you, you choose it. While shooting, it’s our duty to complement the director’s point of view and vision. That’s what we can control. Beyond that, how the project will turn out, whether the audience will appreciate it or not, that’s something we shouldn’t worry about.”

 

Gajraj also gave valuable advice to aspiring actors and young talents looking to make a mark in the industry. He encouraged them to focus on the basics: “Work hard, study, " and he jokingly said to watch the episodes of Dabba Cartel and Dopahiya. There is so much to learn from them.”

 

His humble and grounded approach to his work and success has earned him widespread respect in the entertainment industry. With an attitude focused on the process and not just the outcome, Gajraj Rao’s career continues to inspire both established and aspiring artists alike.
