The actor, who was initially cast in a supporting role for the film now titled Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes, has revealed how a series of unforeseen developments led to him being portrayed as the lead hero.

In an exclusive statement, Kishore recounted how he was approached for what seemed to be a minor role. “When I first signed up, I was told it’s a small part requiring just seven days of shoot,” he explained. The project, then named Sapta Swaralu, did not hint at the larger-than-life turn it would take.

The shift began subtly. After completing his initial schedule, the filmmakers requested an additional day of shooting to add “emotion” to his character. “They also suggested it would be nice if I appeared in a song,” Kishore added. However, when co-actor Getup Srinu asked if Kishore was actually the hero of the film, he was quick to seek clarification from the director. “I was assured that wasn’t the case,” he noted.

In total, Kishore ended up dedicating ten days to the project. But the surprises didn’t end there. “Recently, I was asked to dub again because they had completely changed the screenplay,” he revealed. To his astonishment, the revamped narrative placed his character squarely at the center of the story.

The film’s promotional materials have since begun showcasing Vennela Kishore as the lead. While the actor’s comedic brilliance is undeniable, he expressed a mix of amusement and bemusement at this turn of events. “Now, it’s being projected like I’m the hero,” he quipped.
