Mumbai, Dec 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ally Congress on Thursday called upon the newly-formed MahaYuti 2.0 government to fulfill all its poll promises and live up to the expectations of the common masses.
Maharashtra unit Congress President Nana F. Patole said that 'the Gujarat-oriented' government which is again ruling over Maharashtra, should ensure the esteem of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, B.R. Ambedkar and other icons are not lowered in any manner.
"With the help of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the government has been established in the state after stealing votes and cheating in the counting of the votes. Despite bagging a questionable majority, the new regime has been formed after much controversies and internal bickering that have tarnished the image of the state and the country," said Patole.
Nationalist Congress Party (SP) Working President Supriya Sule heartily congratulated the new Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena’s Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party’s Deputy CM Ajit A. Pawar.
Shiv Sena-UBT's spokesperson Kishore Tiwari said that both Shinde and Ajit Pawar “ran after the lucre of power” instead of exhibiting the courage to chart out a different path which could have given a new political direction to the state, but they may have been swayed due to “pressure tactics and influences”.
Patole added that despite having such a huge majority, the three MahaYuti allies had to struggle for nearly 12 days after the Assembly election results were announced (November 23) to cobble up their new regime.
“However, I don't think that the two Deputy CMs (Shinde and Ajit Pawar) will be given too much importance in this government. They were reduced to going to New Delhi repeatedly and begging for ministerial posts, reducing their authority,” claimed Patole.
The Congress chief said that due to the grace of the Central BJP leadership, though Shinde-Ajit Pawar have found space in the MahaYuti alliance, the BJP may have little or no use for Shinde considering the numbers.
"As we have pointed out in the past, the BJP has once again eliminated two regional parties. Now that the BJP has formed its government, they will have to fulfill their election promises. This includes Rs 2,100/month for the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, the loan write-off for farmers, waiver of electricity bills for agriculture pumps, recruitment for the 2.50 lakh vacant government posts, etc, on priority," urged Patole.
The MVA allies have said that though their numbers may have diminished in the Assembly, their courage and enthusiasm has increased and they would continue to raise the questions of the people and ensure justice for them.
