“This is a film that will stir the hearts of the audience,” Anil Sharma began, speaking about the film's impact. “It’s a story about a family, a story that will reach every home.”
Drawing comparisons with classics like Baghban and Avatar, Anil Sharma explained that Vanvaas stands apart because of its realistic approach to modern-day issues. "Every 20 years, films like Baghban and Avatar are made, but Vanvaas is different," he noted. "It’s grounded in realism, reflecting the problems and dynamics of today’s families. This is not a melodramatic film, but one that’s based on the real-life issues families face."
He elaborated further on the film's themes, saying, “The problems in this film are taken from real life, problems that today’s families are dealing with. It’s not that children don’t love their parents – they do, but sometimes, they just can’t show it. The situations become such that there is a disconnect. Homes have become like pigeonholes, where people are lost in their own problems.”
Anil Sharma also touched on the importance of exploring such subjects in today’s cinema. “It was essential to touch on this subject,” he stated. "As a director, it is my moral responsibility to make a film like this. When the public gives you so much, it’s your duty to give something meaningful back. Something that touches their hearts, like the rain showers that stir the soul."
Describing the emotional depth of Vanvaas, Anil Sharma assured that audiences would feel deeply moved by the film's portrayal of family pain, empathy, and emotions. "When you see the family struggles, emotions, and sensitivity on screen, your heart will be touched,” he said. "At the same time, we’ve wrapped it all with entertainment and comedy. Nana Patekar’s humor is unmatched, and you’ve seen it in memes, but his humor in the film is something you can’t miss."
Vanvaas is hitting the cinemas on December 20, 2024.
