Udvegam Movie Review: An Engaging Court Room Drama (Rating:3.25)

Thrigun's Latest Court Drama film is Udvegam-The First Case is released today with decent expectations. Mahipal Reddy directed this film with @pabi3706 Shankar, Lukalapu Madhu as a producers. The film also stars Deepshika, Srikanth iyengar, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Suresh in key roles.

Story:

Mahindra (Thrigun) is a Lawyer by profession and deals a criminal cases in his own style and attitude. He partners with an agency and leads his life in the profession. His Love interest Ammul (Deepshika) is his another core part in his life. When all is going well in Mahindra's life, Spoorthy case touted to be a gang rape comes on to his table for a hearing. However he first rejects to take up the case. Twist in the tale arises when Mahindra decides to take up the case on the final day of the judgement. Prasad (Srikanth Iyengar) who also takes up this case from the girl side confronts Mahindra who is defending the accused guy named Sampath, an A2 in the same case. This leads Mahindra into the trouble in Personal Life and Professional Life as well.

How will Mahindra deal the Gang rape case? Will Mahindra helps out Sampath with proper proofs save him from the case is rest of the story.

Performances:

Hero Thrigun as an young lawyer makes a good screen presence with matured acting skills. His role gives good impact in the entire film with his performances

Heroine Deepshika has the limited role and has decent amount emotional scenes in the combination of Thrigun

Paruchuri Gopal Krishna impresses as a Guru of Thrigun in the film

Senior Actor Suresh gives us few laughs with punches as a Court Judge

Srikanth Iyengar once again proves his versatility with his performance as an advocate

Senior Actor Siva Krishna justified his role as a cop in the movie.

Technical Department:

Director Mahipal Reddy took so short time to present this court drama without any diversions. His screenplay and narration is neat and purely triggered on the point.

The production values by Kala Srusti International looks grandeur

G V Ajay Kumar Cinematography is okay

Jesvin Prabhu editing could have been better

Karthik Kodakandla Music and BGM is decent

Analysis:

Udvegam has proper dose of crime and the emotions in both halves of the movie. Though the film starts off on a slow note it gradually picked up its pace after 20 minutes and the tempo is continued till the latter half. However, few twists and court room scenes will engage the audience with clear narration. The confrontation scenes between Actor Srikanth Iyengar and Thrigun has worked out well. Also, the scenes between Thrigun and Deepshika will also connect to the audience for the reality which has been happening in the real life.

The director has smartly played his game to engage audience with a crispy run time and good twists in both halves. Though the BGM and few scenes are not worked well, within no time everyone will connect to the plot due to the twists in the execution.

Finally:

Udevgam will surely give you good dose of an entertainment and an engaging narration with good twists.
