Bhumi was present at the Danube Properties Filmfare OTT Awards 2024 press conference, co-powered by Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Monday along with renowned directors Raj & DK and Jitesh Pillai. During the event, she spoke candidly about the journey that brought her to this point and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
Reflecting on her career, Bhumi shared some heartfelt advice she would give to her younger self: "I would just tell my younger self to not give up. It is tough but wherever you are thinking is correct. You always had a plan and you stuck to it and you are doing well." She added, "I say this time and again that where I am today was a part of a larger plan, a larger dream that I thought of when I was very young, and nothing has touchwood till date gone off track." Bhumi’s statement reveals the kind of clarity and confidence that has guided her through the highs and lows of her career.
She further explained her vision for her place in Bollywood, noting that her focus has always been on leaving behind a lasting legacy. "Yes, there are bad and good days, there have been extreme highs and lows, but the end goal is to leave behind a legacy of films, work with filmmakers, and do content that I am very proud of. And that is exactly what I am doing," she said. Bhumi’s commitment to choosing meaningful and impactful roles has allowed her to carve out a space for herself that is distinctly her own. "I was very clear that I wanted to create a space for myself where I was irreplaceable. The movies that I do, I create a space for myself, a niche for myself which would be very tough to break. And I think I am somewhere there, somewhere I have created that," she added proudly.
As she continues to evolve as an actress, Bhumi remains grounded in the vision that first led her to Bollywood. "I am proud of the films I am associated with. It was younger Bhumi's idea and plot that I am here today. So I am very proud of her," she reflected.
On the work front, Bhumi Pednekar will next be seen in Daldal and The Royals, two exciting projects that promise to further showcase her talent and commitment to doing groundbreaking work in the industry. With her strong sense of self and her unwavering dedication to her craft, Bhumi is sure to continue breaking new ground in the world of Bollywood cinema.
