Netflix Unveils Teaser for The Leopard Series, a Modern Adaptation of the Classic Novel

Netflix has dropped the teaser trailer for The Leopard series, also known as Il Gattopardo, a modern reimagining of the iconic 1958 novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. Created by Richard Warlow, the series promises to explore timeless themes such as power, love, and the cost of progress, set against the backdrop of a changing Italy in the 19th century.

 

The series stars Kim Rossi Stuart as Don Fabrizio Corbera, the Prince of Salina, whose privileged life is disrupted by the looming unification of Italy and the collapse of the old aristocratic order. Alongside him is a talented cast including Benedetta Porcaroli, Deva Cassel, Saul Nanni, Paolo Calabresi, Francesco Colella, Astrid Meloni, and Greta Esposito. At the heart of the story is Don Fabrizio’s difficult decision to secure his family’s legacy through a marriage between his nephew Tancredi and the beautiful Angelica, a choice that could come at the cost of his beloved daughter Concetta’s happiness. This moral dilemma serves as the series' core conflict, with themes of loyalty, love, and the sacrifices made in the name of progress.

 

The Leopard is adapted from the acclaimed novel, widely regarded as one of the greatest works of Italian literature. The series is written by Benji Walters and Richard Warlow, and it is helmed by a talented directing team including Tom Shankland, Giuseppe Capotondi, and Laura Luchetti.
