Had I Not Been An Actor, I Would Have Been A Footballer Says Shabbir Ahluwalia

Popular actor Shabbir Ahluwalia, known for his captivating screen presence, recently attended the grand opening ceremony of Actors Cricket Bash 2024 (ACB 2024), where he revealed an interesting tidbit about his sports passion.

While he's renowned for his acting career, Shabbir shared that had he not been an actor, he would have pursued football instead. He said, “Had I not been an actor, I would have been a footballer. I am great football player, as compared to playing cricket. Though I am good cricket player”

The ACB 2024 launch party, a star-studded purple carpet event, featured an exciting lineup of celebrities, including Aly Goni, Anupam Mittal, Manav Gohil, Sharad Kelkar, Varun Badola, and many others, all gathered to kick off the much-anticipated celebrity cricket tournament.

Shabbir expressed his admiration for the event, noting how challenging it is to organize a cricket tournament with non-professional players—most of whom are actors rather than seasoned cricketers. He said, “Hundreds of actors are playing in the tournament, it is not easy to have a tournament like ACB (actors cricket bash), where people playing cricket are not professional cricketers but actors, so getting them together on those particular dates, on the same ground is commendable”.

When asked about the message or agenda behind the tournament, Shabbir clarified that there’s no specific message to convey, but he hoped the event would encourage people to enjoy sports. “We’re here to have fun, enjoy cricket, and if there’s any message I’d want to share, it’s that it’s never too late to play a sport,” he said. The tournament, while focused on celebrity fun, carries an underlying encouragement for fitness, teamwork, and the love of sport.

ACB 2024 promises an exciting season with teams like Ahmedabad Lions, Chandigarh Mavericks, Chennai Marvels, Delhi Titans, Mumbai Aces, and Varanasi Warriors, all competing with some of the most popular names in Indian television and film. Celebrities like Aamir Ali, Aparshakti Khurrana, Shreyas Talpade, Shweta Tiwari, Mohit Malik, Aly Goni, and many more will be seen showcasing their cricketing skills on the field, adding to the excitement of the event. With an all-star lineup and plenty of fun on the cards, ACB 2024 is bound to be a memorable event for fans and participants alike.
