Lyle and Erik Menendez were arrested in March 1990 for the murders of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, seven months prior. The brothers were tried separately in 1993, which led to mistrials in January 1994. In a second trial, they were found guilty of first-degree murder and later sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
