Chiranjeevi and SS Rajamouli Mourn the Loss of Ratan Tata

The Indian film industry is in mourning following the passing of renowned businessman and philanthropist Ratan Tata. Superstar Chiranjeevi Konidela and celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli, among many others, took to social media to express their heartfelt condolences.

Chiranjeevi shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), reflecting on Tata's profound impact on India. He wrote, “It’s a sad day for all Indians. For generations together, there is not a single Indian whose life hasn’t been touched by his services one way or the other. One of the greatest visionaries our country has ever seen, a truly legendary industrialist, a philanthropist extraordinaire, and a human being par excellence, Shri Ratan Tata’s contributions not only built the illustrious TATA brand into a global powerhouse but also significantly contributed to our nation-building. In his departure, we lost an invaluable mind. The values, integrity, and vision he has inculcated in Indian entrepreneurs shall always inspire and guide generations. May his soul rest in peace!”

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli also expressed his grief, emphasizing Tata’s lasting legacy. He posted, “Legends are born, and they live forever. It's hard to imagine a day without using a TATA product. Ratan Tata's legacy is woven into everyday life. If anyone will stand the test of time alongside the Panchabhootas, it's him. Thank you, Sir, for everything you've done for India and for impacting countless lives. You've left a mark that will last for generations. Salute to you... Always your admirer... Jai Hind.”

Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday night, was among India’s most respected industrialists. He served as the Chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 until his retirement in 2012, leading the Tata Group to new heights and establishing it as a global powerhouse. His contributions extended beyond business, touching various sectors through philanthropy and community development.

Born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, Tata was also the Chairman of the Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust, two of the largest philanthropic trusts in India. He was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second-highest civilian award, in 2008, recognizing his invaluable contributions to society.

As the nation reflects on Ratan Tata's remarkable legacy, tributes from public figures like Chiranjeevi and Rajamouli underscore the profound influence he had on countless lives. His vision, integrity, and commitment to philanthropy will continue to inspire future generations. The loss of such a monumental figure is deeply felt across India, and his contributions will be remembered and cherished.
