Superstar Vikram's latest period drama, Thangalaan, has made a remarkable entry into the box office, grossing ₹26.44 crore on its opening day. The film, directed by Pa Ranjith and co-written with Tamil Prabha and Azhagiya Periyavan, has captivated audiences with its historical setting and compelling narrative.

Set against the backdrop of the British Raj era, Thangalaan follows the journey of a fierce tribal leader who takes on a sorceress after helping a British general in the search for gold in their village.
