When asked about Salman Khan and herself being two misunderstood celebrities, Ranaut began by defending Khan’s immense popularity and the unfounded criticism he often receives. “I don’t think that’s the case, look at the kind of fan following Salman Khan has, people love him. I think right now he is the topmost and most loved star in the country,” she asserted. Her comments come in response to ongoing debates about Khan's status and the negative attention he sometimes attracts from within the film industry.
Ranaut acknowledged that Khan, like herself, is subject to significant scrutiny and resentment from those envious of his success. “People who love him, love him, and the people who don’t love him, they will hate him. Whoever is his competition or people from the film fraternity, of course, they will hate on Salman Khan because they wish to be Salman Khan or reach the heights he has reached. I am sure he has plenty of haters,” she said.
Turning the focus to her own experiences, Ranaut drew a parallel between Khan’s situation and her journey as a politician. She highlighted the contrast between public admiration and industry criticism, reflecting on her interactions in Parliament. “I am loved as a politician across the nation. Even in Parliament, people from the opposition love me. I am amazed when people ask me to sit with them and treat me with respect and admiration,” she shared. Ranaut’s sentiment reflects a broader struggle with being misunderstood despite receiving genuine respect from the public.
She further elaborated on the dynamics within the film industry and the resistance she faces. “Now I won the election of Mandi, people love me there, but there will always be people from the film fraternity who have their own clique or circle. Of course, I will be an eyesore for them. They wish for their own people to replace me or sit at my position—anyone other than Kangana will do, be it their family member, friend, or gang member,” Ranaut stated.
Her comments underscore a larger issue of jealousy and exclusion within the industry. In her closing remarks, Ranaut adopted a defiant tone towards her detractors. “I don’t think I want to address or acknowledge those people. 90 percent of people love you, and only 10 percent hate you. I say to hell with them,” she declared.
On the work front, Kangana will soon be seen in Emergency.
