Hamas top political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed on Wednesday by a predawn airstrike in the Iranian capital. Iran and the militant group blamed Israel for the shock assassination that risked escalating into an all-out regional war. A Hamas statement said a funeral service will be held in Tehran, with Muslim funeral prayers on Friday in Doha, followed by his burial in Lusail, Qatars second largest city.
