Follow My Instinct, No Set Formula Says Siddharth Malhotra

Siddharth Malhotra stands out as a filmmaker who follows a unique and deeply personal approach to creating content and says I follow my gut or instinct, there is no set formula. 

 

Siddharth Malhotra is known as a writer, director and producer, so we asked how he approaches his ventures, and he said, “Whatever I create, whether it is a OTT show or film, first I look at it as a writer, whether it is emotionally satisfying to me or not. Then as a director, whether I will be able to direct it to the best of my ability, and if I feel that I cannot direct it, I will join the team as producer.” 

 

“If you’re passionate about your story, I will help to tell it, I am here to empower you, if I feel that I should associate myself to a story, I do associate, be it Kafir, Sanjivani, or other shows or films I made, see there is no set formula, just a gut or instinct, if I feel this story needs to be told, I help in any way to tell a story” 

 

Siddharth Malhotra’s latest venture Maharaj, set in the 1800s and drawing on a real-world libel case, “Maharaj” is a story about how a journalist, takes on a powerful role-model of society, hailed by many as a messiah for the masses. The fearless reporter uncovers a series of incidents that shake the foundation of society.

 

The film features Junaid Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari and Shalini Pandey among many others. The period piece started streaming on Netflix from June 21 and ranked in the top ten lists worldwide.
