Rivals Teaser Is Out

Hulu has unveiled an enticing teaser trailer for its upcoming series "Rivals," adapted from Dame Jilly Cooper's novel of the same name, promising a captivating dive into the high-stakes world of 1980s England's social elite.

Set against the backdrop of the cut-throat realm of independent television in 1986, "Rivals" explores the drama, excess, and ruthless ambition of its characters, where everyone is out for themselves. At the heart of the narrative is Declan O'Hara, played by Alex Hassell, a charismatic star navigating the murky waters of Corinium television. Alongside him is Rupert Campbell-Black, portrayed by David Tennant, a divorced and dissolute Tory Minister for Sport whose antics add fuel to the fire.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson, Nafessa Williams, Emily Atack, and many more, each bringing their characters to life amidst a backdrop of scandal, ambition, and romantic entanglements. Declan's clash with Cameron Cook, a formidable executive played by Victoria Smurfit, ignites sparks of controversy that reverberate through the corridors of power and passion.

Created by Happy Prince, a part of ITV Studios, "Rivals" features a talented team of writers including Sophie Goodhart, Marek Horn, and Clare Naylor, weaving a narrative rich in intrigue and human drama. The series is helmed by director and showrunner Elliot Hegarty, supported by Dee Koppang O'Leary and Alexandra Brodski directing episodes, ensuring a visually compelling and narratively engaging experience.

"Rivals" promises to deliver a blend of scandal, romance, and power struggles that will keep viewers eagerly anticipating its release on Hulu later in 2024.
