The film stars Prabhas in the titular role alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. The trailer for the epic science fiction action drama will out on 10th June, Today.
The film is film written and directed by Nag Ashwin, inspired by Hindu scriptures, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. It is the first motion picture instalment of the planned Kalki Cinematic Universe.
Made on a 600 crore production budget, Kalki is the most expensive Indian film. Its music is scored by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
Kalki 2898 AD was initially scheduled to release on 9 May 2024, but was postponed due to the 2024 Indian general election. It is now scheduled to release worldwide on 27 June 2024 in theatres.
