People in Japan’s Okinawa seek safe shelter after Taiwan earthquake (Video)

Residents in the Japanese prefecture of Okinawa were evacuated on Wednesday after Taiwan recorded its strongest earthquake in nearly 25 years earlier in the day. Local broadcaster NTV showed people moving to higher ground in Naha City, as well as others vacating buildings. Several flights were also cancelled at Naha Airport. The Japan Meteorological Agency said a tsunami wave of 30 centimetres (about 1 foot) was detected on the coast of Yonaguni island about 15 minutes after the quake struck.
