“Baazigar: Reliving Shah Rukh Khan’s Grey Avatar on the Big Screen”

Shah Rukh Khan, often hailed as the 'King of Bollywood,' has had a career spanning decades, marked by numerous iconic performances. One such role that stands out in his filmography is that of Ajay Sharma/Vicky Malhotra in the 1993 thriller "Baazigar." Directed by Abbas-Mustan, this film not only showcased Shah Rukh Khan's versatility as an actor but also became a cult classic that continues to captivate audiences.

 

Now, decades after its original release, "Baazigar" is set to return to the silver screen, much to the delight of fans. The film is being re-released as part of a Retro Film Festival, giving audiences a chance to relive the magic of this timeless classic in cinemas.

 

Sharing the poster on his twitter profile, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “Flashback to a time when magic unfolded on the silver screen! Screening at your nearest Cinépolis theatre.” 

 

"Baazigar" tells the story of a young man, played by Shah Rukh Khan, who seeks revenge for the fall of his family. His character, with shades of grey, was a departure from the typical Bollywood hero, and Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal was both menacing and mesmerizing. His chemistry with co-stars Kajol and Shilpa Shetty added depth to the narrative, making their performances memorable.

 

Apart from its gripping storyline, "Baazigar" is also remembered for its iconic music, composed by Anu Malik. Songs like "Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein" and "Baazigar O Baazigar" became chartbusters and are still popular among audiences.
