Sakal Ban From Heeramandi Out Tomorrow

On the occasion of Maha Shivratri and Women’s Day, the makers of Heermandi drops the first look poster for first single, Sakal Ban from the forthcoming series titled Heermandi – The Diamond Bazaar.

Sharing the poster on social media, the official handle of Netflix India captioned it, “This spring, the flowers of strength and beauty blossom. #SakalBan the first song from #HEERAMANDI OUT TOMORROW! Showrun and co-directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, popularly known as Heeramandi, the series star Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Sehgal, Sonakshi Sinha, Fardeen Khan, and more.

The song Sakal Ban, as per the poster, is a traditional composition with lyrics from the legendary poet Amir Khusro and sung by Raja Hasan. The music of Heeramandi has been composed by Bhansali himself. The first single, Sakal Ban will be out tomorrow, 9th March 2024.

Set against the Indian independence movement against the British Raj in the 1940s, Heeramandi is about the lives of tawaifs living at the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore.

Meanwhile, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has no release date attached to it yet. The series is co-directed by Vibhu Puri.
