Communicating Characters to Life in “Madgaon Express” Was Challenging Says Kunal Kemmu

Kunal Kemmu, known for his versatile acting skills, is stepping into a new role as a director with his debut film, "Madgaon Express." At the trailer launch in Mumbai, Kunal opened up about his journey of writing and directing the film, highlighting the challenges he faced and the passion that drove him to pursue this new endeavour.

When asked about his journey of writing and directing his debut film, Kunal said, “I have grown up on sets, so I have loved everything about filmmaking, I have always been intrigued by it, but I never had the courage to say that I am ready to take the plunge of making a movie, Like the old saying goes, opportunities finds you when you’re in your worst space, I found the writer in me, who wrote this film, and when you are collaborating with a company like Excel Entertainments, who pushes you to pursue your dream, so you end up putting all the experience you have gather over the years on sets, learning and watching.”

Adding about the challenges he faced while making the film, Kunal said, “Prior to directing Madgaon Express, the movies I did, I sort of paid attention to each department and honed my skills. Before the film started, I have had several sleepless nights, my biggest concerns was I am an actor, and now I am directing, so I didn’t wanted to be someone who is telling actors what kind of acting I want, so I was more concerned about my communication with my actors, because I knew if the characters in this film didn’t come alive, it won’t work”.
