Continuing the story from the previous seasons, the trailer follows the journey of Huma Qureshi's character, Rani Bharti, who is serving her sentence in jail for the alleged murder of her politician husband. When her children are attacked, Rani is released on bail and sets out to avenge her husband's murder and settle scores with those who framed him.
The trailer showcases the complex political landscape of Bihar, with old players holding onto their territories while new dynamics and power struggles emerge. It also touches upon the issue of spurious liquor, which leads to multiple deaths in Bihar and its connection to politics.
Maharani has been created by Subhash Kapoor and is directed by Saurabh Bhave. The show stars Huma Qureshi, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Sushil Pandey, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Sohum Shah.
The show will be available for streaming on Sony LIV from March 7.
