Paid Negativity Caused Tejas To Perform Underwhelmingly Says Kangana Ranaut

Addressing the performance of her recent film, "Tejas," at the box office, Kangana candidly acknowledged its underwhelming reception. She even went on to label the negativity surrounding the film as paid propaganda.

Expressing her disappointment, Kangana wrote, “Paid negativity for my films is overwhelming, I have been fighting hard so far but even audiences are encouraging women beating films where they are treated like sex objects and asked to lick shoes, this is deeply discouraging for someone who has been dedicating her life for woman empowerment films, might shift career in coming years, want to give best years of my life to something worthwhile”

She questioned whether the film industry is solely to blame for the regressive portrayal of women or if audiences also play a role in accepting such content. She emphasized the need for collective responsibility to bring about positive change, urging audiences to be discerning in their choices and advocating for films that empower women rather than exploit them.

In a surprising revelation, Kangana hinted at the possibility of a career shift in the coming years. Frustrated by the prevalent trend of audiences endorsing films that degrade women, she expressed a desire to dedicate the best years of her life to a cause she deems worthwhile, suggesting a potential shift away from the film industry.

On the work front, Kangana is busy with Emergency, biographical historical drama film directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut, from a screenplay by Ritesh Shah and story by Ranaut.

Based on the Indian Emergency, it stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. The film also features Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles.
