Sriram Raghavan is known to give us some great crime thrillers and his next film 'Merry Christmas' is also a thriller. The trailer of the film has left everyone super excited for the film. A special press conference was held in Mumbai for the film where the cast and crew was present.
Talking about the retor vibe of the film, Sriram Raghavan said, “This kind of story needed a city where Christmas is celebrated. I did a recce in Pune also but because it was post covid, people were reluctant to give away their houses for shoot. So we decided to shoot it in Mumbai in a controlled situation. We have shown the Mumbai of the 80's in the film."
Merry Christmas is a romantic thriller film directed by Sriram Raghavan. Filmed simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil, with different ensemble cast but same lead.
When asked about challenging aspect of making bi-lingual thriller, Sriram said, “I always wanted to make a film in Tamil as I am a Tamilian myself. So with Vijay in the film, I thought it would be interesting to make this film in Tamil. But I will never do that again. You have to shoot the same scene in a different language after 10 days. There is no fun. The adventure discovery is not there. But I still enjoyed making this film in both languages."
The film is scheduled to release in theatres on January 12, 2024
