Thailand states that 20 more of its citizens are held captive in Gaza by Hamas Tel Aviv, Nov 25(IANS) Even as 10 Thailand citizens and 1 Philippine person were released by Hamas along with 13 Israeli hostages, Thailand in a statement on Saturday said that 20 more of its citizens are held as captives by Hamas. Thailand said that it would be working for the release of all its citizens who are held as hostages by the Hamas terror outfit. Iran has played a pivotal role in the release of 10 Thailand nationals and 1 Philippine national, according to information available. Sources in Thailand embassy in Tel Aviv told IANS that it would be using all the possible backroom operations for the release of its citizens. With a four day ceasefire commencing on Friday, Hamas has released 13 Israeli hostages, 10 Thailand nationals and 1 Philippine citizen on Friday. 39 Palestinians were released by Israel as part of the deal reached with the negotiators including Qatar, Egypt and the United States of America. The four day cease fire has now led to the movement of trucks with aid materials including food, fuel and medicines into Gaza strip from Rafah crossing. Both the sides have also entered into a truce and no gun shots were heard since Friday morning. However Israel charged that it had shot down missiles fired by Hezbollah from the West Bank region on Saturday morning.
