The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Saurabh Shukla, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant in supporting roles. The story of Drishyam 2 is set seven years after the events of the first film.
Drishyam 2 was released theatrically worldwide on 18 November 2022 to positive reviews. Critics particularly praised the performances, writing, cinematography and editing. The film grossed 345.05 crore worldwide and became a blockbuster and the 25th highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
After Drishyam, filmmaker Abhishek Pathak’s directorial, Hu ane Tu, a Gujarati comedy starring Siddharth Randeria, Sonali Lele Desai, Puja Joshi and Parikshit Tamaliya, released in 2023, performed well at the box-office.
