Actor Nana Patekar recently addressed a viral video that portrayed him slapping a child. In his clarification, he explained that the incident occurred during the filming of a sequence.
A video from the sets of Anil Sharma’s directorial Journey, surfaced on social media yesterday, where Nana Patekar is seem whacking a young fan trying to click a selfie with him, though the whacking was real but there is context behind it.
Sharing a clarification video on his social media profile, Nana Patekar tweeted, “The video which is circulating on social media has been misinterpreted by many. What actually happened was a misunderstanding during the rehearsal of a shot from my upcoming film 'Journey'.”
In the video, Nana is seen saying, “There is a viral video showing that I have slapped a child. However, this incident was part of our film. We had completed one take and were rehearsing for another. During this time, a child unexpectedly entered the scene, and we assumed he was a crew member. Following the script, I delivered a slap. It was only later that we realized he wasn’t part of our team. I attempted to reach out to him, but he had already left. This was an unintentional mistake, born out of ignorance. I sincerely apologize.”
Apart from Anil Sharma’s Journey, actor Nana will soon make his OTT debut with 'Laal Batti', a political thriller directed by Prakash Jha.
