In a statement, the Sahara group said, "Saharasri ji an inspirational leader and visionary, passed away on 14th November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute (KDAH) on 12th November 2023, following a decline in health."
His body is still remains within Kokilaben Hospital. After due process it will be handed to the family. The media and reporters are waiting outside.
Producer Anand Pandit took to his X (twitter) profile and expressed his condolence, he wrote, “A successful businessman who inspired many including myself, a great visionary, great sports enthusiast, a motivational speaker and most importantly a gem of a person…I have had a chance to meet him a few times but those few meetings shall forever remain etched in my heart. Subrata ji, you shall be missed. Rest in Peace Om Shanti #SubrataRoySahara”
