Jodhpur airport to be built keeping in mind the needs of the next 25 years: Shekhawat Jaipur, October 1 (IANS): Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the expansion work of Jodhpur airport was pending for the last 30 years. This task is now solved. Now the airport will be expanded keeping in mind the needs of the next 25 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the expansion work on October 5, said Shekhawat while talking to journalists here in Jodhpur on Sunday. He said that the work of expansion of the airport was pending for the last three decades. Got the land from the Air Force only. And success has been achieved in formulating a quadrilateral agreement. This agreement has been signed between the State Government, Airport Authority, Municipal Corporation and Air Force. The Airport Authority has received 37 acres of land from the Air Force for the expansion of the airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay its foundation stone on October 5. Now twelve aircraft will be able to stand together. The airport will be built according to the needs of Jodhpur. A budget of about Rs 307 crore has been approved for the new terminal building and expansion work of the airport. (IANS-arc)
