I Thought Avnish Will Become CA Says Sooraj Barjatya

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, who graced the trailer launch of Dono, directorial debut of his son Avnish, said he thought his son will become a charted accountant.

Actor Sunny Deol, Poonam Dhillon, Sooraj Barjatya, three proud parents launched the trailer of Dono, which marks the debut of Rajveer Deol, Paloma Dhillon and Avnish Barjatya.

When asked about third generation of Barjatya clan is entering filmmaking, Sooraj said, “I always thought my son will be a charted accountant, now he is making his directorial debut, the thought of him as filmmaker never struck me, until one day he came to me said he wants to be a director. I kept silent for some time, and I said the same two things which my father told me, if you want to be a director; you need to want to say something, if you have something to say, only then become a director. I am so happy that this is a film where he had a want to say something, and he has his own voice.”

Rajshri banner has been making films for decades about family, relationships, and weddings, talking about the same, Sooraj added, “I can only have gratitude, because we are told that films are our dharma and karma, which my uncle has always told me, and you can see it for yourself, Rajshri films get the same kind of love, the way they got back in days. Wherever I go, people still know me from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, it is unbelievable to get so much of love and respect, it is only because we have stuck to our values, and just by being simple, and make what we want to make.”

“When Avnish told me about the concept of Dono, I just said, make whatever you want to make, but remember that Rajshri’s audience will also come to watch it, so remember that. We have made films back in days, we are making films today, sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t, three of my kids – Avnish, Rajveer and Paloma are launching, I am happy.”

The film is slated for 5th October 2023 release.
