IKEA completed 80 years globally and 5 years of retail success in India

New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANSlife) IKEA held "Ikea Iconic", an event in Mumbai to highlight their most iconic home furnishings goods and the debut of a limited edition, unique collection created for the 80th year milestone named "Nytillverkard," in honour of their 80 years of worldwide design legacy and innovation. This unique collection honors vintage designs by recreating the brand's classic products with contemporary updates, brilliant colors, and better materials.

Timeless items that have been recreated and revitalised in new shapes and colors have grown more and more in demand as statement pieces in contemporary Indian homes, effortlessly fusing nostalgia with contemporary aesthetics. The brand's return to its roots with a modern twist is reflected in the collection, which follows this trend.

 

The Nytillverkard line, which in Swedish translates to "newly made," pays homage to its 80-year design history. Each item embodies a new and contemporary viewpoint, making them genuinely timeless. The assortment includes various pieces of traditional furniture, bedding, and accessories that have been enhanced with brilliant, lively tones. Additionally, the items have been upgraded to enhance their quality and sustainability attributes in order to satisfy the unique preferences of the next generation. The Tuvkornell candle holder, Domsten stool, and Kultuskog plant stand are just a few of the made-in-India products that the brand's suppliers in India have actively contributed to this worldwide collection.

Erik-Jan Middelhoven, the Country Home Furnishings, and Retail Design Manager, expressed the essence of the collection during its launch, saying, “IKEA ICONIC is a celebration of our range and products that people remember us for and that have impacted the lives of many people in India and across the globe. This year, we relooked into the past with an aim to assemble the future with our customers and opened our treasure chest to relaunch our iconic products from the years in a beautiful 80-year special collection, Nytillverkad. We’ve designed many functional and beautiful home furnishing products during the last 80 years, and it’s only natural that we get curious about our achievements in the past. With Nytillverkad, we are returning to the future, again. In multiple launches across the year, we will release a series of carefully selected products from our design archive, updated to match the bold outlook of the next generation.”
