Chennai, Aug 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) Madras High Court Judge Justice Anand Venkatesh on Wednesday lashed out at the Special courts in Tamil Nadu saying that a court is not for rich and affluent.
He was responding to the Special courts letting off Ministers in the DMK government, Thangam Thennarasu and KKSSR Ramachandran. The judge said that the legal system of the country is bleeding and that the court cannot sit idle watching such a situation.
It may be noted that the Madras High Court had suo motu taken up revision of orders acquitting DMK Ministers, Thangam Thennarasu and KKSSR Ramachandran in separate disproportionate assets cases.
Ramachandran and his wife and other close associates were acquitted by the Principal Sessions Court, Sriviliputhur in July 2023 in a case filed
against him and family in 2011.
The same court had acquitted Tamil Nadu Finance minister Thangan Thennarasu and his wife in December 2022 in a 2012 disproportionate assets case.
Justice Anand Venkatesh said that the case will now be heard on September 20, 2023, and the court served notices to the two ministers.
The Madras High Court single bench had earlier described the acquittal of Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister, K. Ponmudi as celestial stars of the minister lining up perfectly with the blessings of judicial personages.
