Mohita Raina was interacting with Newshelpline to promote his new series The Freelancer.
Created by Neeraj Pandey, the series is a high-scale thriller, following the gripping tale of rescuing a young girl trapped in war-torn Syria against her will. Helmed by Bhav Dhulia, the series is adapted from the book “A Ticket To Syria,” penned by Shirish Thorat.
Talking about his role and new avatar, Mohit Raina said, “As an actor, you always want to do something new and unique, and by this, I mean, you enter a universe which you have never visited before, and the universe that Neeraj Pandey creates, it’s new with every project. I am so glad that I got to be part of that universe.”
“It’s about a mercenary, who is on a personal mission to save someone he knew, it is a whole new narrative of a story on a global scale. It is based on a book, A Ticket to Syria, and I hope that the kind of love Special Ops got, this one too gets the same kind of love and appreciation, we made it with a lot of hard-work and love” added Mohit.
The series also stars Anupam Kher, Kashmira, Sushant Singh, John Kokken, Gauri Balaji, Navneet Malik and more.
Mohit also added that the series is made with international crew and standards. “We shot the series in Morocco with international standards, technicians, actors and more, all coming from different parts of the world. This is the first time in India that we made a story of human extraction within a limited period of time”.
The series is scheduled to premiere on 1 September 2023 on Disney+ Hotstar.
