Director-Writer Afroz Khan and Producer Purvi Khan, proudly announced the screening of their first Short film, ‘Rat in the Kitchen’ starring veteran actor Mantra Mugdh and surreally beautiful and extremely talented actor Aishwarya Desai.
A classic ‘Film-Noir’, Rat in the Kitchen is Directed by the young and promising Arkish Aftab. The film follows a man spiralling into the unhealthy lifestyle of alcoholism and bitterness, a metaphor for the apathy and negligence in our society.
Having already won reputable awards like ‘Best Actor’ at 13thDadasaheb Phalke Film Festival and ‘Best Editing’ at 12th Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival, the film is also the a finalist at ‘Prisma – Rome independent film awards’, an official selection at ‘Lift-Off Global Network Sessions 2023’ and ‘Bengaluru International Short Film Festival’ which qualifies the film for the Oscars!
With that being their project, Orange Elephant is paving it’s own path to being India’s very own ‘A24 Films’ like studio.
Screening in Versova, Mumbai on the 13 August 2023, ‘Rat in the Kitchen’ is already making waves and gathering praise and acclaim.
