Time To Revive The Dying Culture Of Theater Says Says Gulki Joshi

Mumbai, 19th July 2023 (Newshelpline) - Madam Sir Fame actress Gulki Joshi, who is returning to stage with a brand-new play titled Purush, says theater is a dying culture and it is this current generation duty to revive and revamp it, and make it bigger.

Gulki Joshi was interacting with Newshelpline during a promotional interview.

When asked about her upcoming play, Gulki said, “Theater is my first love and I always make sure that in-between shows I do some plays, give some time to theater as well. As an actor I promote theater, I feel theater is a dying culture, and I think it is the duty of this generation to revive it, revamp it and make it bigger.”

“It is a cute romantic play, I am playing this hoity-toity rich spoilt brat girl, something which I have never done before” added Gulki.

She will soon be seen in a play titled 'Pyaar Mein Twist'. It is written and directed by Manish Mehta, and stars Ankit Raj.

Talking about her hit show Madam Sir, actor Gulki said she wasn’t sure whether such a unique concept will work, but its success surprised her.

She added, “It was quite surprising for me, when I auditioned for the Madam Sir show, I was told the entire story of the show, and I thought to myself this show is really very different. This is so different from anything on television, that it is risky for this sort of show to find success.  First and foremost, a show which features four strong female characters, no one is crying, no one has saas-bahu drama going, no one is weak, vulnerable or suffers from poor me situation, and top of that, every episode was parting with a good social message, such a progressive and different show, might not run.”

“When show became successful, TRP’s were good, people loved it. Some shows promote the goodness of humanity, and Madam Sir was a show like that” added the actress.
