My Character In Minus 31 Is Morally Different Than Me Says Rucha Inamdar

Actress Rucha Inamdar, who plays the role of an inspector Preksha Sharma in Minus 31, says her character in the film is morally different from her real self.

Rucha Inamdar was interacting with Newshelpline during the trailer launch of Minus 31 – The Nagpur Files, an investigative thriller set during covid-times.

When asked about challenging aspects of her role, Rucha, “There is this sequence where I get into physical shuffle with my on-screen father played by Raghubir Yadav, when I first read the sequence, I told my director, this is something I won’t be able to do, and Pratik, my director reasoned that it’s not you who is doing it, it’s the character who is doing it. My character is morally very different from me, and my filmmaker had to usher me into doing certain things, which I didn’t want to do in the name of character portrayal.”

Sharing screen-space with Raghibir Yadav is a dream come true for many, and Rucha is no different, she said, “Working with Raghubir Yadav was mind-blowing. The beauty of working with him is that he will never treat you as a junior artist, and not just an actor, but a person, he treats everyone equally. There was no feeling of working or acting with him, it was just organically flowing.”

“It was my good fortune that his acting method and my acting method is very similar, we work on intuitions, and spontaneous, that sort of chemistry was amazing” added Rucha.

The crime thriller also features famous rapper Kaam Bhari and Rucha believes he is the cool quotient of the movie. She said, “The cool quotient of the film, rap, is a huge element in the movie. There are two characters in the movie, who are rappers, and they have their own journey in the movie, I don’t think ever before especially in a cop thriller movie rap is integrated.”

The film is helmed by Prateek Moitro, written by Charulata Moitro, also starring Kaam Bhaari, Rajesh Sharma, Shivankit Parihar, Santosh Juvekar and Jaya Bhattacharya. The film is slated for 21st July 2023 release.
