Chennai, June 28 (SocialNews.XYZ) Two MLAs of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) walked out of a programme of Tamil Nadu Governor, R.N. Ravi on Wednesday.
PMK MLAs, R. Arul (Salem- west) and S. Sadhasivam (Mettur), walked out of the event after complaining that they were made to wait for a meeting with the Governor.
The two legislators wanted to meet Governor Ravi and submit a petition to him to remove the Registrar of Periyar University, K. Thankavelu, for corruption allegations against him.
The MLAs told mediapersons that the Governor’s PA asked them to wait till Wednesday afternoon and therefore they staged a walkout of the event.
The Governor had faced a black flag wave protest enroute to the Periyar University and hence the police had beefed up security.
Sources in the Periyar University told IANS that the Governor was willing to meet the legislators but due to paucity of time had requested the MLAs to wait for some time. This irritated the MLAs who staged a walkout and spoke to the media.
