It is Important To Make Films Like Birha And Watch Them Says Divya Dutta

Mumbai, 13th June 2023 (Newshelpline) - Veteran actor Divya Dutta, who graced the special screening of festival favorite Punjabi short film, Birha – The Journey Back Home, praises the film and urges people to support the short format.

Produced by Ghalib Datta and Navneet Singh Gujral, the film also features Sahil Mehta. Helmed by Punnet Prakash, starring Rajit Kapur, Manav Vij and Sahil Mehta. The film has been winning big time at international film circuits.

Celebrities such as Divya Dutta, Akash Khurana, KK Raina, Ratna Pathak Shah, Naseeruddin Shah, Aahana Kumra, along with the entire ensemble of the film graced the special screening in Mumbai last night.

Talking about the film, Divya Dutta said, “I am still reeling from the after effects of such a stunning performance, we don’t usually give attention to short films, but anytime this short film Birha releases, please do watch it, it’s a beautiful film. Especially in this time, where relationships are getting diluted in our society, it is important to make and watch such films.”

“The film is about relationships, it’s been shot properly, and performances are brilliant. Relationships, especially with your parents, which we’re slowly forgetting, it is important to maintain that relationship” added Divya.

Birha has bagged the ‘Best Film’ award at the Amsterdam International Film Festival, and has been screened at the Hollywood Shorts FEST, Los Angeles Film Awards, New York Indian Film Festival, Calcutta International Cult Film Festival, and the Gangtok International Film Festival and slated for Ottawa Indian Film Festival awards.

When asked about her upcoming projects, Divya said, “I am doing 3 big shows, 2 movies, and I don’t think I can talk about the shows, but by the end of this year, I think I have lined up five or six releases. Shows are from different genres, one is from action, one is from drama, and one is thriller, so all are from different genres.”
