The film features Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Saif Ali Khan as Ravana, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, Vatsal Sheth as Indrajit, along with Sonal Chauhan and Trupti Toradmal.
The film is shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages, the film is budgeted at over 700 crore, making it the most expensive Indian film ever made. The film's music is composed by Ajay–Atul.
The premise is set some 7,000 years ago, where Ayodhya's king Rama travels to the island of Lanka with the help of Hanuman's army with an aim to rescue his wife Sita, who has been abducted by Ravana, the demon king of Lanka.
The film is set to premiere at the Tribeca Festival in the Escape From Tribeca section on 13 June 2023. A theatrical wide-release will follow three days later
