Maidaan Teaser Goes Viral, Clocks 30 Million Hits

Mumbai, 31st March 2023 (Newshelpline) – Actor Ajay Devgn dropped the first official trailer of Maidaan yesterday, within a day, the teaser itself has clocked 30 million hits. 

 

Helmed by Amit Sharma and backed by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, the film  is a biographical sports drama dedicated to the golden years of Indian football.

 

Ajay is essaying the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is widely known as the founding father of Indian football. The film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh.

 

The teaser opens with dynamic shots of sportsmen playing football in the rain. What stands out about them is how they are playing the 'greatest game' barefoot. Ajay then makes a striking appearance in a grey coat, holding an umbrella while overlooking a match.

 

The film has been in making for the longest and had its fair share of troubles, back in 2020, producer Boney Kapoor had to dismantle the film set due to the lockdown imposed to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. In May 2021, the set of 'Maidaan' was destroyed by Cyclone Tauktae. 

 

Finally, after facing several setbacks, the film is all set to release in theatres on June 23.

 

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is ruling the box-office with his current release, Bholaa, which is the fourth movie Devgn has directed, acted and produced. The film also stars Tabu, Vineet Kumar, Gajraj Rao, Deepak Dobriyal and more in the lead role.
